Lesson 3 of 4 · 4 min

Holdover and notices to vacate

Make sure every lease past its end date is either terminated or recorded as holdover.

Leasing › Holdover lists every lease past its term end with no termination and no holdover recorded. Until one of the two exists, occupancy reporting disagrees with who is actually in the home.

  1. Open Leasing › Holdover.
  2. For each lease, find out what is really happening: moved out, staying month to month, or in the middle of a renewal.
  3. If the resident is staying, record the holdover with a Holdover start date and a Reason.
  4. If they have left, record the move-out on the lease so the deposit settlement starts.

The goal is an empty list: Every lease past its end has been accounted for.
