Resident ledger
The running record of every charge, payment and credit on a resident's account, with the resulting balance.
Each line on the ledger shows a date, a description, a charge or payment amount and the running balance. Payments are applied to open charges following the lease or company policy, for example oldest charges first.
The resident ledger is the evidence in any balance dispute, deposit settlement or eviction case, so entries should be accurate, dated and never deleted, only reversed or adjusted.
