Quiet hours

The times of day when automated calls and marketing texts should not be sent, based on the recipient's local time.

Federal telemarketing rules generally prohibit solicitation calls before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. at the recipient's location, and several states set narrower windows or limit weekend and holiday messaging. Many companies set stricter internal limits for all automated outreach.

Quiet hours should be enforced by the messaging system itself, using each contact's time zone. Replies to messages a person just sent are usually treated differently from outbound outreach; confirm the rules that apply with counsel.
